Cynthia Kagan has engaged in her passion for expressing thought and feeling through art for over 40 years. Since narrowing her focus from the commercial field to the finer arts, Cynthia has emerged as a premier portraitist. Her style weds bold interpretation of matter with love of whimsy. The artist takes a fresh approach to capturing Man's Best Friend and offers up a body of work that goes straight to the doghouse.
Cynthia is a native New Yorker transplanted in California. She works out of her Santa Monica studio under the watchful eye of her rescue, Chewy, the canine who started it all.
There she creates art that captures the heart and soul of her subjects. Her paintings have been featured in galleries and museums, several One-Woman shows, mail order catalogues, retail and business venues around the country, and on nationwide television.
The artist dedicates significant time and energy to charitable causes. She has produced work and donated proceeds to many S.A.R. and animal protection organizations. Her post-9/11 Essence Of America Tribute Series received national recognition and has resulted in a steady source of revenue for the NYPD Canine Unit.
Cynthia accepts commissions. She offers a wide range of Limited Edition Prints of her original works and creates personalized greeting cards. Her work is available for widespread (gift and charitable) distribution.
